The position of the leg would be almost impossible to believe in that woman, but it is a well-known fact that Fernando Botero usually likes painting magnified figures, not only people, even things, objects, animals, all of them oversized. But we can see how incredibly small the feet are if we compare them with the rest of the body; the position doesn’t matter- the woman shows us an expressionless face, or maybe serenity. Also, due to the fact that there is a mirror, we can also see the figure from behind, not only what is in front of us.
